Nocturne 0.56.0 released 2026-10-25
Runs on macOS with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer), on 64-bit Linux with glibc 2.39 or newer, such as Ubuntu 24.04, and on 64-bit Windows 11. There is no Intel Mac build yet. What Nocturne works with has the full list.

Before you run it
macOS — unpack the zip and drag Nocturne to Applications. Nocturne is not notarized by Apple yet, so the first time you open it macOS refuses. Click Done, then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security, click Open Anyway and confirm with your password. You do this once for each new version.
Linux — unpack the tarball anywhere and run
Nocturne/Nocturne; there is nothing to install.
Windows — run the installer; it installs for your user only and needs no administrator rights. It is not signed yet, so Windows may show Windows protected your PC: click More info, then Run anyway. Each new version is a new unsigned file, so the warning comes back with every update. Install & set up says where it installs and how to remove it.
